Herbal Aloe: Review!

Today I am reviewing a new range of products that I recently discovered which have fast become a genuine firm favourite!
You may have heard of the company Herbalife - they are a leading international nutrition company and I knew of them because of their Herbalife diet programme which I had once considered joining - what I wasn't aware of was  that they have many more strings to their bow including manufacturing many nutritional supplements, skincare and fragrance lines.

They have now introduced their Herbal Aloe range...this is being marketed as a "beautifully luxurious, naturally inspired range that strengthens and repairs hair and nourishes skin in need of hydration".

There are 6 products in the range including:

Strengthening Shampoo and Strengthening Conditioner
Hand & Body Wash
Hand & Body Lotion
Bath & Body Bar
Soothing Gel

I was sent two products to try out....

Herbal Aloe Soothing Gel

This gel is designed to comfort, moisturise and soothe dry tired skin, and is fragrance free.

This sounded absolutely perfect for me right now as anybody who has experienced pregnancy will know how tired and achey you can get, particularly legs and feet!

I expected the gel to be quite greasy but was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't at all! It had an instant cooling effect on my skin, which really made me feel instantly relaxed - I used this on my legs and then on my feet and I felt it had a real "awakening" yet soothing sensation.

I would recommend this particularly to pregnant women suffering from tired, achey legs!

The soothing gel costs £8.63 for a very decent sized 200ml bottle which I think would last for a fair few uses as a little bit of the gel went quite a long way!

Herbal Aloe Bath & Body Bar

Now THIS product I could genuinely rave about all day long!!!
One of the perks of blogging is being able to sample new items, and I have very rarely sampled anything that I disliked - as a beauty product lover I have an appreciation for most beauty products! - but every now and then you come across a product that you just absolutely adore....and this is one of them!!!!!!!!

I have always had a bit of thing for soap anyway, I love nothing more than opening a fresh bar of soap and sniffing away at it like a crazy person!
And lately I have found that my pregnancy has made my sense of smell very strong....I find myself obsessed with the smell of cleaning products and beauty products - and the smell of this bath & body bar is nothing short of BLISS!!!!

It is a very hard scent to describe - it is almost fruity but in a gentle way, Bean Daddy apparently used it while I was away last week (Not happy about that!!!) and said the smell reminds him of melon, I think this is a good description.

The bar is a really good size (125 grams, I'm not sure how this compares weight wise with other soaps but it certainly looks bigger to me!) and has lasted me for about 7 baths so far without decreasing in size at all.

It lathers up really well and feels really creamy and decadent on my skin. After using it, my skin feels really soft and the smell lingers for a while...which I love!
It contains aloe vera, olive oil and vitaminds A, C and E so it cleanses and nourishes dry skin without stripping essential oils.

The bath & body bar is priced at £6.40 which I would have initially thought was quite expensive for a soap, but after trying this I think its best looked at as more of a soap/moisturiser/body lotion all in one and I can HONESTLY say I would not think twice about purchasing this myself once my bar has run out.

I absolutely love it and I know it will be a repeat buy for me, time and time again!

I am certainly impressed with this range so far, and am keen to try out other products ...particularly the shampoo and conditioner!

Herbal Aloe products are not sold in stores and are available for purchase exclusively through Herbalife Distributors - for more information, please click here: http://products.herbalife.co.uk/get-herbalife

  2. Great review, I like finding out about new products that I've not heard of before. I'm not a soap user myself as I never take baths {that sounds gross I know, so let me elaborate..} I'm much more of a shower person myself & therefore use shower gel.
