Well it's now been 3 weeks since I announced my surprise 3rd pregnancy, so I thought it was about time I did a little Bump Watch Update!
I'm not going to be doing these every week as I don't feel like there's that much to update on, particularly as I'm having quite a symptomless pregnancy compared to the last two experiences! - and so i`ll just update every so often instead.
I have just turned 24 weeks + 2 days pregnant.
I can't believe how fast it's going! Maybe it's because I didn't announce it until 21 weeks, but it just seems that time has whizzed past to this point! I'm hoping that doesn't mean that the rest of the time drags, but considering we have quite a busy time of it over the next couple of months with the run up to Christmas etc...I think the whole pregnancy might actually zoom on by!
It still feels VERY strange to think that there is actually a third baby on its way, and I often have to remind myself that I am actually expecting - when I feel those little kicks and movements it still takes me by surprise as I honestly don't think it's really sunk in yet! I hope it does before the baby arrives!
It feels like forever since I last saw anybody about anything pregnancy related, I remember being pretty amazed while I was having Noah at how infrequent the midwife visits are for subsequent children and I still find it surprising now - I was sure there must be an appointment due around now but when I looked it up I realised I'm not actually due to see the midwife until 28 weeks!
Symptom wise, there still isn't a great deal going on, but I have had a few new symptoms:
*I have been feeling a lot more emotional than usual - anything at all can make me cry at the moment, from songs on the radio to ads on TV (perfect timing with the sad Christmas ads starting! Thanks John Lewis for all the tears!).
*Still feeling exhausted - just constantly, all of the time! I guess that's what happens when you have a 2 year old and a 7 month old to look after whilst also growing a new human inside you, but yes...it's bloody knackering! I can't sit on the sofa without nodding off!
*Breathlessness - My bump feels much rounder and much much higher up this time than it has done in my previous pregnancies, and that has left me feeling breathless quite a lot - whenever I talk for longer than a few seconds I find myself really struggling for breath, and I'm totally puffed out walking up the stairs!
*Uncomfortable sleep - I'm also finding the bump quite heavy at night, and finding it difficult to get comfortable. My bump feels SO heavy when I wake up in the morning. Again, I don't remember this happening in either of the last two pregnancies.
That's pretty much all for symptoms - still not a great deal happening! It really has been a bizzarely symptomless pregnancy for me!
I have started feeling much more movement now which is lovely - I hadn't felt a single kick until 21 weeks which was worrying me a bit, but lately I get quite a lot of kicks and wiggles particularly at night time and when my bladder is full I can REALLY feel every movement. Nothing too extreme yet though, apart from one solitary BIG KICK last week which really took my breath away! Other than that one, the movements have been very gentle - I wonder if this is a small baby, although Tyne and Noah weren't exactly big (Tyne was 6lbs 13 oz, and Noah was 8lbs) I felt their movements much more!
Other than all of that, I have been stressing myself out quite a lot with how unprepared I am for the new baby - I'm very much the kind of person who likes to have everything ready and sorted months in advance, particularly when it comes to baby clothes but because I don't know the sex and I don't like neutral colours much I'm struggling...in fact I haven't bought a single baby item yet!
There's not much I can do as I don't want to buy neutral colours just for the sake of it when I don't really like them, so I'll have to just wait and see - I still have a very strong feeling that baby is a boy in which case he'll be fine as I have so many brand new things left over from Noah that still have tags on, but if it happens not to be a boy then a baby girl will certainly be clothesless for the first few days! eeek!
That's about all there is to report on at the moment, I'll be back in a few weeks with another bump update.
