How to throw a Minions party

If you’re a parent of young children, there’s a strong chance that they’re fans of the Minions, the little yellow critters that broke out in a big way in the Despicable Me films and now have their own films and merchandise lines. They’re perfect for kids – cute, vibrant, funny and characterised by what they do, not by any complicated dialogue – and they’re perfect to theme birthday parties around.

The basic Minion design features are yellow skin, blue dungarees and big eyes underneath clear goggles, so it’s easy to get creative and incorporate them into everything from games to invitations to party food and make your party a Minions event to remember!

Set the tone for the party with a Minions-themed invitation design. While you could just design one on the computer and Photoshop a couple of Minions into a basic design, think about the text as well as the visuals. Include phrases along the lines of:

“Join [birthday boy/girl] on a once-in-a-lifetime adventure with the Minions at [address] on [date]”.
This will increase anticipation levels for the party – it might put you under pressure as the organiser, but you should thrive off that…right?
