Today's Challenge is for me to tell you about....
9 Loves
1) Jon - my boyfriend. We haven't been together for that long - only just over 2 years, and we have been living together for 14 months - but he is my soulmate :)
Before Jon I was due to be married to my fiance of 6 years, and its true what they say - that you don't know how wrong something is until you understand what "right" really feels like.
2)My family. I'm very close to my mum & dad, my sister Laura, and all of my many aunts, uncles and cousins and they are all very important to me. I don't know what I'd do without them.
3) A part of the family but deserving their own special mention are my 2 lovely little nieces - 4 year old Amelie and 2 year old Lottie-Marie. I love children and I don't have my own yet unfortunately, but I am very close to my nieces and I love spending time with them - they're the cutest little things in the world, and they make me laugh so much! Its fantastic to watch them grow up.
4) Blogging - I haven't been doing it for all that long but I am so enjoying the experience of writing about things that I love, sharing tips and product finds with you all, getting to know fellow bloggers/readers - its such a fantastic little community and its become a really enjoyable and relaxing part of my daily routine.
5)Cruising - I love travelling in general but I have a real fear of flying which can, obviously, limit travel quite a bit! I had also wanted to try cruising and at the beginning of this year I finally did and OMG - it was the best 10 days of my life!
I feel totally at ease on the water, I loved everything about the cruising lifestyle and I am totally bitten by the bug - I am constantly looking at cruise offers and planning trips! We're going again in November, and I already have next years cruises planned out in my mind :)
6)Penpalling - I have been penpalling for about 8 years or so and I just love it. Its so nice to get to know a person through something as personal as letters, and to receive nice cheerful mail instead of the usual bills & junk mail can really cheer up my mornings! plus I really find it therapeutic to sit down with a cup of tea and write a long letter to a friend...letter writing is such a lost art, and one that I'm determined not to lose. Email is just not the same.
7)Faeries - I have been obsessed with fairies ever since I was little and my mum would tell me that in December, Father Christmas sent fairies to our back garden to watch me and check that I was being good and finishing my dinners. She even used to open the back door and show my clean plate "to the fairies"! She told me they were all different colours and different ones had different duties - I still remember that the blue fairy was a snitch and would tell every little thing I did wrong so I had to be extra good when she was in the garden! And the white fairy was the BOSS of all the fairies so you didn't play up when she was around! haha!
This led me to be pretty obsessed with fairies, and the "Christmas Fairies" led to my love of Flower Fairies, and then to my dicovery of Brian Froud & Jessica Galbreths fae art, among many others.
I collect books and faerie art still, I am obsessed with anything Tinkerbell-related, and I have fairy doors all over my house :)
8)Music - I have always loved music, for as long as I can remember. My parents were both big fans of music when I was growing up, and there was always music on in our house. I always used to love listening to it, making up dance routines, etc. I listen to music everyday, and I have a very eclectic taste - I love a little bit of everything pretty much, and I think its amazing how music can really effect your emotions.
9)Writing - I wrote my first story when I was 5, about a plane crash in a jungle! I still have that story somewhere....
I asked for an electric typewriter for Christmas the following year, and I never stopped writing stories from then on....I can't write short stories to save my life, only full length novels. I have also written the scripts for a 6 part series!
I LOVE writing and losing myself in characters - I've never shown my work to anybody so I don't know if its any good, but I enjoy it so much.
