Mid-Week Beauty Post: Best/Worst High End Products of 2012

So I have decided that I will dedicate my mid-week posts (Tuesdays & Wednesdays) to Beauty Related topics, and the rest of the week will be my Bump related posts :)

I was tagged to do this post by the ever lovely & fellow pregnant Beauty Blogger Louise over at Confessions Of A Secret Shopper - it looks like fun so lets give it a go! :)

1. What was your favourite High End Makeup brand of 2012?

I don't think my answer to this question has changed since I started using high end make up, and I seriously doubt it ever will - I am a 100% loyal MAC girl through and through!

Don't get me wrong - I have my flirtations with Benefit, Clinique, Estee Lauder and the like - but my heart belongs to MAC!

2. What are your least favourite products of 2012?

Well I tried and tested lots of different products in 2012, thanks to my investments in lots of lovely Beauty Boxes! I am usually quite easily pleased and can see the merit in most items (of course, its easier to do that with samples as you're not paying full price for the item!) - the main disappointment for me was probably Benefit's Erase Paste.
I usually adore Benefit products and, given that I have a massive issues with dark under eye shadows, I love a good concealer!
I had heard SO many good things about this product but I personally found it to be absolutely useless.
It was far too light weight, it didn't stay put for very long and it just looked greasy and naff! Certainly not worth the price tag!

3. What was the most expensive item of makeup you purchased in 2012?

It was probably my YSL  Touche E'clat concealer - pricey but it was worth it, although I have to say its not my favourite concealer of all time and I would only buy it on occasion. I find MAC's concealers to be more worth the price tag.

4. Did you manage to pick up any High End bargains in 2012?

I did indeed! My best buy was this Nails Inc Nude nail polish, which was in a bargain bin at my local Boots store - there was no price on it, so I enquired at the till and was told that they weren't sure what it was supposed to cost so I could just have it!  Woo hoo!

5. What High End product did you buy in 2012 that wasn't worth the hype?

Well again it would be Benefit's Erase Paste. I also heard a lot of great things about The Pore-fessional, and I have to say I wasn't overly impressed with that myself. I used up my magazine freebie sample, but I wouldn't rush out to repurchase it.

6. Which product wins your award for Best High End Product of 2012?

I think that would have to be Estee Lauder's MagnaScopic mascara - which I will be reviewing shortly so watch this space! :)
