Mummy Mondays: BUMBO review and Competition!

We were recently asked to try out and review a Bumbo baby seat, and to give our honest opinion on it.

For those who may not be familiar with the Bumbo, they are a specially designed floor seat made for the purpose of seating young babies who can't yet sit up unaided.

The Bumbo is, in my opinion, one of the most simple and yet ingenious inventions of recent years - they are lightweight to pick up making them very easy to move around as needed, but they are extremely solid and steady so that you can be safe in the knowledge that when your baby is in them - they are not going to topple over (that said - it should be pointed out that the Bumbo is designed to be a FLOOR seat and should not be used on raised surfaces such as tables, etc!!)

What I love about the Bumbo is that it gives Tyne the freedom to sit alone without the constant need for me to be behind him - he seems to enjoy having his little seat to get on with playing with his toys or watching Baby TV without anybody crowding him, and I can fully appreciate how nice a change that must make for a baby as - lets face it - they usually have an adult in their faces most of the time!

The Bumbo seats are made of quite a soft, squishy material which makes them comfortable for baby - but you can also buy seat covers which I think are perfect for the colder months!

You can also buy a play tray to attach, since we added ours Tyne has enjoyed the seat much more as he loves having toys laid out on it - mostly so that he can bash them on the tray of course, but he enjoys it!

The Bumbo is also great for feeding time when baby is weaning but perhaps not quite sitting solidly enough for a highchair - I found it to be a real lifesaver at meal times!

I also think that the seats are great for encouraging baby to learn to sit upright and improve their head control.

The Bumbo has been a real improvement in our day to day lives - making every day tasks simpler and just giving me a little bit more time with free arms while still keeping Tyne happy and safe! Ideal!
