As I have mentioned numerous times over the last few weeks....this was Tyne's very first Christmas.
As somebody who has always LOVED Christmas, I was incredibly excited about seeing my little man experience the Most Wonderful Time Of The Year for the very first time....
There were a few things we did in the week or so leading up to Christmas to help get us in the mood and get Tyne excited for the upcoming festivities....
We went to the local Victorian Evening and dressed up for the Nativity Scene photos....
We went to a pantomime performance of Jack & The Beanstalk - it was Tyne's first experience of the theatre and he LOVED it!! He squealed with delight the whole way through!
We wrote a letter to Santa...
We went on a steam train ride to visit Santa....
Which was fun, but I wasn't really happy with that being Tyne's First Christmas Santa Visit - I personally find it very sad that so many Santa's Grottos these days no longer allow the children to sit on Santa's lap - it's something I personally find sad and taking precautions way too far, I wanted to go to a traditional grotto where Tyne could sit on Santa's lap for a traditional photo - So we managed to find one in nearby Exeter!
I'm so glad we did as the photo we got is exactly what I had wanted!
I think its a magical image and it really captures the wonder in his face....Santa was lovely and his elves were very friendly and doted on Tyne. It was worth every penny and I'm so glad we made the effort to visit a better Grotto!
We also had the above photo put into a bauble for the tree which I think is a really special keepsake.
A few days before Christmas we went to a kids Christmas party at Aunty Laura's house...
On Christmas Eve we went to the crib service at a local church, which was really lovely - it was a special service for children so we didnt need to worry about Tyne making a noise. His cousins were there too and it was lovely for them to get together on Christmas and remember the reason for the season as they sang Christmas songs and listened to the nativity story.
After church, Christmas Eve was spent getting bathed and into clean PJs....
Leaving out a mince pie and whisky for Santa, and a carrot for Rudolph...
And hanging out Tyne's sack for Santa....
And while he was sleeping,.....
Santa paid us a visit!
We were very excited for the morning....
Tyne woke up around 10 and we headed downstairs....he was delighted when he saw his train ... I was worried he might be too young for it but as soon as he sat on it he knew to hold onto the handles and he loved riding it without any help!
Then he set about opening the rest of his gifts...
He found all of his gifts very exciting!...
Santa was very kind to Tyne...
As well as Thomas The Tank Engine, Santa also brought...
*Frankie The Hank Whale
*Poppity Pop Dino
*The Gruffalo, Dear Santa, How Many Sleeps Til Christmas, Room On The Broom sound book, and Santa Is Coming To Devon books
*A wooden puzzle
*Neil The Seal
*Skip Hop Pull Along Owl
*Stuffed Brocolli toy from Ikea
*Wooden Xylophone
*Mega Bloks
*Laugh & Learn Puppy
*Happy Hopperz George Pig
*Aqua Draw
*Fisher Price Lion Walker
*VTech Smartphone
After all Tyne's gifts were opened, we exchanged family gifts...
Tyne was very kind to me!
He gave me chocolates, a jumper, a cute owl doorstop and a beautiful jewellrey box...
Which had this beautiful swarovski snowflake necklace inside!
Jon was also very kind to me and got me this...
Aaaahhh! I've wanted one for ages and have been enjoying it a lot!!
He also gave me some stocking fillers:
Socks, PJs, chocolates, books, a jewellrey holder, photo frame and...
Boxsets of The Middle and Modern Family...yay!
After all the presents we were looking forward to a lovely dinner!
After dinner we headed to my Mum & Dad's holiday apartment where my sister, nieces and nephew were also visiting so we could hang out and exchange gifts...
Tyne was very spoilt with gifts from my Mum & Dad, my sister and all of our family in Liverpool who sent gifts...
He loves his Car Walker from Nanny & Gagand....
And I'm sure he'll love all his other gifts too! I do not know where I'm going to keep them all!

Tyne was very spoiled by everybody as demonstrated by the photo above!
I was also very spoiled by Mum & Dad, they got me a Vintage Dressing Table and mirror (which I havent set up yet), £100 to spend in the sales and...
Placemats, little bottle of fizz cocktails, pjs, underwear, socks, a dressing gown, a lovely Shampoo gift set....
New towels, A set of Tefal pans, a city scape touch lamp, a Juicy Couture "Couture Lala" perfume set, Angel perfume (My favourite!) and a set of Enrapture Jumbo Rollers...which I'm so excited to try out!
After a busy Christmas Day, our boxing day was spent playing with Tyne's toys before heading over to my sister's house for a buffet dinner.
Tyne & I dressed up as Mummy & Baby Snowmen!
So all in all....Tyne had a lovely first Christmas!
I really hope that everybody else had a lovely Christmas too....particularly all of the first Christmas babies and mummies out there!

ReplyDeleteLooks as though you all had a great first Christmas together! I can't believe he sat through a pantomime at that age though - you are lucky in that respect. Our Cole (4yo g'son lives with us) suffers with his ears so won't go to the cinema - though he did finally go to the theatre with the school this year which means he may be improving :)
