As you journey through life the days, months and even years can sometimes blend into one.
Days often look very much the same, months pass by and very little changes, even years come & go without truly standing out in my memory....
If you asked me to recall a magical moment from 1987, 1994, 2002 for example...I would be hard pushed to come up with an answer.
But sometimes, a year can contain some of the most magical and meaningful moments of your life....and for me, 2013 was that year.
It all started in 2012 when, at the end of the summer, I discovered that I was pregnant.
I hadn't exactly planned it but I hadn't exactly prevented it either - and although I was filled with nerves at the prospect of giving birth, I was also filled with joy.
When the clock struck 12 on the start of 2013, I was filled with nervous excitement at the wonder of what my first year as a mother would bring.
The first 3 months were full of midwife appointments, scans, some pretty scary moments when I discovered that my Drs had me on the wrong medication throughout my pregnancy and I had been given something that could potentially be damaging to my baby...
So my first magical moment was my 4D scan, which I had at 35 weeks to reassure me that no damage had been done - the baby was perfectly healthy and seeing him in 4D was amazing.
And then, on 26th March 2013 at 11.56 am, Tyne William Henry was delivered into the world - he was the most beautiful little thing I had ever seen, and I was immediately love struck.
Introducing him to my family was very memorable too - I don't think I'll ever forget my sister bursting into tears when she saw him! (And neither will she with the help of this photo!)
The following months have contained endless moments that mattered, and it's hard to narrow them down to a few...
His First Easter was just 4 days after he was born, and it was lovely to see him being included in the family celebrations.
Then came his Christening Day when he was just 4 weeks old - family and friends came from all ends of the country to celebrate the occasion with us and it was perfect in every way.
Following on from that was our move at the end of Summer....we had been living in Liverpool with my parents while searching for the perfect family home, and we managed to find it in Devon
...moving so far away from family was hard but its brought us closer to Tyne's cousins and Aunty, and setting up our family home for the first time and finally being able to decorate his nursery was wonderful.
Shortly after, we took our first family holiday to Cornwall - just a few nights break, but lovely nonetheless.
Another very magical moment was the birth of my nephew in September - I have been an Aunty twice before to my two nieces who I am very close to, but it's lovely to now have a nephew too!
There were many more firsts, such as his first Hallowe'en when we took him Trick Or Treating on some neighbours houses...
And Bonfire Night where he saw sparklers and fireworks for the first time.
Finally came Christmas - a truly magical ending to a truly magical year filled with moments that mattered.
A babies first Christmas is truly the most exciting and wonderful thing.
These are my Moments That Mattered in 2013 - I'd love to hear about yours!
