Review: Braun Thermoscan

When your child is unwell, times are stressful for everybody.

As a parent you are naturally worried and your nerves are likely to be on edge - I know myself as a first time mum just the slightest cold can have me worried sick.

Your child is poorly and the last thing they want is a lot of fuss being made - but you need to take their temperature - unfortunately getting this done correctly and with minimal fuss isn't always easy.

We were recently sent the Braun Thermoscan to try out with Tyne.

The Thermoscan is very easy to use. and as it is designed to measure the heat generated by the eardrum and surrounding tissue it gives an accurate in just a few short seconds.

Braun Thermoscan are the number 1 brand recommended by Doctors, which instantly reassures me that I'm in good hands and as  the eardrum shares blood supply with the temperature control centre in the brain, the ear accurately reflects the body’s core temperature making it ideal for measuring a child’s temperature.

The innovative ExacTempÔ pre-warmed tip improves the accuracy of the reading and ensures comfort for the child. The guidance system alerts care givers to the correct positioning inside the ear and a memory function stores the last eight temperature readings (very handy for those like me who have very short memories!)

Safe for the whole family including newborns, the thermometer can be easily cleaned and switched between users thanks to the disposable lens filter, which avoids cross contamination.

Available separately (£7.99), the filters can be used with all models of Braun ThermoScan® IRT ear thermometers with 40 lens filters per box.

All in all we found the Braun Thermoscan very easy to use and we were able to get an accurate reading in no time at all, with no stress from Tyne meaning no stress for us!
