As someone who writes a blog, of course it's only natural that I myself would be a fan of many other blogs.
If you have any sort of hobby or interest, I think it's only natural to admire the work that other people do within that field.
I was recently made aware of a really interesting competition with an amazing prize being run by Curry's - they are asking bloggers to post about their ultimate favourite blog to be in with a chance of winning one of 2 amazing PCs! (The HP Envy-Rove 20-k014us would be my personal choice!)
This should be a relatively easy task but I have found it incredibly hard to narrow my choices down to one ultimate favourite blog.
There are so many blogs that I read on a daily basis, and so many that I love for all different reasons.
In the end, I decided to eliminate any blogs that are written by any of my friends in the blogging community - it's just impossible to judge between them when you know & love the writer, so I simply couldn't do it - of course eliminating those blogs did mean eliminating some of my daily-reads and most adored blogs - but it also made the process of choosing a favourite a lot easier!
It left me with a choice of two favourite blogs.
One I almost chose which is a lifestyle blog that I read every day with envy and admiration - envy of the writers talent, envy of her photography skills and eye for detail, and envy of her beautiful home and her happy outlook on life.
But in the end - I decided to go in another direction.
I chose a blog that inspires me in a different way.
One thing I love about blogging is being allowed to have a little glimpse into the life of somebody else - in the case of this blog, the writer is quite anonymous - I have no idea what she looks like or what her name is.
But it doesn't matter.
Her life intrigues me and inspires me.
You see....she writes about the trials and tribulations of life as an adoptive parent.
And not just any adoptive parent - somebody who deliberately set out to adopt an older child (quite a rare thing), and one with a history of trauma too.
Everyday I log on to read a little about Last Mom's latest experiences in her life as mother to Princess....I feel her pain as I read about the struggles they have and her fear of getting it all wrong, I worry for Princess as she battles her demons and confronts her past....I find the blog so interesting, and so informative for somebody who has a strong desire to adopt an older child.
I personally have always wanted to adopt, and in the last couple of years Jon & I have decided that we would - at some point in the not too distant future - adopt an older child.
We've already been lucky enough to have our own baby - we know that there are a lot of older children in the system who have lower changes of being adopted than babies and toddlers do, and we want to offer a home to one of those children.
I know this won't be an easy task and I of course want to be prepared for it - and in Last Mom's blog, I have found an insight into the life I am aiming toward myself.
The blog is honest and hard-hitting at times, but so inspiring and so insightful.
If I could only choose one blog to continue reading, I would have to choose LastMom.
