Interview with my Britmums sponsor and Competition!

Well, you’ve heard me talk about it for months….
I’ve discussed my anxieties and fears about it, I’ve shown you my outfits, I’ve introduced myself….
And now the time is finally here.
This weekend…I’m heading off to BritMums Live!
My first ever blog conference and I am SO excited!
Of course I am still very nervous about it, and very apprehensive at the thought of leaving Tyne for the weekend but I know his Daddy will look after him well (And his Aunty is under strict instructions to keep checking in too!)
This weekend I hope to learn more about the world of blogging, I hope to have the chance to form relationships with new and interesting brands, I hope to pick up some tips to help me improve my writing & photography skills, I hope to step out of my comfort zone a little and increase my confidence, and I hope to have a great time with some lovely fellow bloggers!
All of this would not be possible without the support of one of my all-time favourite companies, My1stYears, who were kind in sponsoring me to attend BritMums.
I am so honoured to be carrying their logo on my Business cards for the event, and feel proud to be associated with them.
Of course sponsorship is important and appreciated, but it means so much more when the company sponsoring you is one that you genuinely hold in such high regard – I have shopped with My1stYears since long before Tyne was born, and since he came along I visit their site at least 2 or 3 times a week to check for new products as I genuinely love what they offer, their exceptional packaging and their fantastic customer service.
I cannot thank them enough for their sponsorship and their work with me over the past year.
To celebrate the arrival of Britmums Week, I have interviewed the head honchos at My1stYears to get the answers to some of my burning questions about the company….have a look below at the interview!

1) First things first! Tell us a little of the back story behind the business….where the idea initially came from, how you got it off the ground, and who was the person behind the company?

The idea came from Jonny Sitton and Daniel Price spotting a gap in the market for a personalised baby shoe and then further developed into My 1st Shoe, which inevitably became My 1st Years. The idea had been born, My 1st Years launched with the aim of becoming the No. 1 Baby personalisation brand.
2) What do you think is the key to My 1st Years success?

Quality, affordable products with a personal touch and always keeping the best customer service top of mind. The packaging is a key element for My 1st Years and one of the reasons why so many customers return.

3) Can you tell us a little about any celebrity clients you have?

We cannot go too much into the details but we can reveal that we have sent gifts to the likes of the Beckhams, Elton John, Beyonce and many more. The reaction we receive from celebrities is overwhelming and then they often turn into customers. Our latest celeb is Prince George and we hope he loves our personalised gifts.

4) What are your best selling products?

Our shoes and silver gifts are great selling products. The whole range sells extremely well so would be hard to pinpoint exactly what product sells best.
5) My personal favourite aspect of My 1st Years is the attention to detail with your beautiful packaging, where did this idea come from and do you get a lot of good feedback on it?

We get lots of feedback on our gift box and it’s a great reason for people to shop with us. The idea was that we wanted the customer to trust an online store to offer the whole gifting service.

6) How important do you think social media interaction is to a business such as yours?

Social media is key for My 1st Years as it allows us to interact with our target audience and allows us to engage and find out new things from out customers relatively quickly.
We often engage with our customers through social media to help make decisions like what shoe style we should order for the upcoming season. Our fans love this and its great to bring them into the process to generate that excitement.

7) Do you have any plans for expanding or adding new lines in the coming years? What does the future look like for My 1st Years?

We have lots of expansion plans and are introducing a refresh of our current website in the coming months, so it is exciting times at My 1st Years HQ. The future is to keep expanding but remaining firm on our core values (which will build the business).
Thanks so much to My1stYears for taking the time to answer my questions, I wish them every success for their future…though I’m sure they won’t need it as the quality of the products and customer service is second to none!
