Retirement: Slowing down?

Retirement can often be thought of as a time to slow down, relax, take things easy....but more often than not, retirement is actually just the opposite!

My Dad is now semi-retired, and I think he's busier than he ever was when he was working full time!

With both of his daughters and all of his grandchildren living 250 miles away, he spends most of his time travelling up and down the motorway to visit and when he's not doing that he's working around the house and garden, being my Mums personal chauffeur or doing favours for other people - he definitely rarely gets a minute to himself!

Of course being busy in your golden years can sometimes play a bit of havoc on your joints, and you may find yourself needing a bit of extra help to get around the house.

You'd probably assume that it's terribly expensive to indulge in something like a Stannah Stairlift, but actually it's much cheaper than you'd probably think!

Costs of stairlifts are actually £7.26 per year!

To put that in to perspective, have a look at the below infographic to see how else you could spend £7.26 these days....
