My Cruise Cocktail Dress Wishlist

As I've mentioned before, in May I am heading off with my family on our first proper abroad holiday!

We're going on a 7 night cruise to the Norwegian Fjords - I have been on a cruise once before and one of my absolute favourite parts of the experience was the formal evenings! I LOVED the chance to really go all out and dress up to the 9's and I felt that this experience was something that was really reserved for cruise holidays - sure you can dress up on any holiday but how many black tie occasions are there these days?!

I loved being part of the glitz and glamour of the Captains ball, seeing the men in their tuxedos and the women in all of their beautiful evening ballgowns - it really was a sight to behold and after spending months whittling down my wardrobe choices to my few favourite evening gowns I was ion my element twirling around the deck amongst them!

This time I will have the children in tow, and so of course dressing up is going to be further down the list of priorities - I fear that full blown evening gowns may be a little difficult to pull off with babies to carry about, but I don't want to let that stop me from enjoying the glamour completely.

I've been putting together a wishlist of items from Lyst that I would absolutely love to take on board with me!

Lyst is site unique to all users.  It learns your shopping behaviours, your likes and dislikes and tailors the searches for clothing items to your interests and recent habits. When you first sign up you are asked which designers and shops you like and dislike, you get to choose the style of clothing you are looking for, and personalise details such as the price range, colour and size you want - Lyst then searches the listed sites to bring you choices suited to your tastes and requirements.

I have added the dresses I love to my wish Lyst and the great thing is that you are alerted when something on your list goes into the sale - amazing!

Here are some of my top choices:

This white gown from Azzaro is simple, elegant, timeless and stunning - with its square neckline, crystal embroidery and statement black silk bow waistline it really does draw the eye - this would be ideal for the black & white themed balls that are often held on cruise ships for the Captains welcome reception.

For a more understated but equally beautiful look, this Paul Smith Floral Print Dress is ideal - it's a cotton and linen blend dress so will be light and comfortable, and the monochrome print with a dash of bright colour will be just gorgeous paired with some statement heels and a bright clutch bag!

And finally for a touch of perfect girlie elegance I just adore this Giugletta Print Dress from Coast - the feminine cut, sweetheart neckline and pretty bloom print are ideal for a romantic dinner on board!

Have you been on a cruise? What would be your best tips for cruise dressing?!
