Fancy going all
exotic and booking a hen party in a different country? How about Wales!? Perhaps not quite what you had in mind but
allow me change your point of view and tell you why a hen party Cardiff will be the best weekend you’ve ever had!
Voted the UK’s most
sociable city you can be sure of a warm welcome from the moment you arrive.
Plus, as a capital city there is everything you could ever want on offer. Of course there are the familiar chains of
bars and restaurants but Cardiff’s streets are bustling with quirky bars,
restaurants and Victorian shopping arcades.
Kick off your
weekend by getting into the spirit of all things “Cymru” and get yourselves over to Welsh
Games. Situated outside the city in the
lush green Welsh valleys, you’ll compete against your group in nine different
activities each with a Welsh twist.
Cling on as long as you can as you ride the Sheep Rodeo, duel with
oversized leeks and take on the ultimate obstacle course dressed up in giant
dragon outfits! You’ll be rolling around laughing every
moment you’re there and photos to record all your silliest moments are included as
part of the day.
As an
alternative, you could also try some Bristol activities at West Country Games in Bristol,
who are owned by the same company.
Once you’ve caught your
breath, head back to the bright lights and remedy all that wholesome fresh
country air with another Welsh tradition – drinking! Beat a path to the trendy Cardiff Bay area
and jump aboard a boozy boat trip for a cruise with a fully stocked bar. What better way to see the sights?
One bar that has
really taken centre stage lately is Coyote Ugly Saloon. Located right in the centre of Cardiff, this
themed bar is one of the most unique places to party in Cardiff. A take off from the movie Coyote Ugly, you
can expect one of the wildest bars in Cardiff with dancing on tables, downing
shots and some rip roaring action in this rootin’ and tootin’
saloon bar.
For the
naughtiest of hens, get on down to the best stage show in town – The Dream
Boys. You won’t forget this shirt ripping, ab
rippling, chest glistening fiesta in a hurry!
Even shy hens won’t be able to resist jumping up on stage to help
the stars with their performance in this one.
There’s a great buffet on hand but you may be a little too occupied to think
about food so pick the girls up from the floor and restore your energy in one
of Cardiff’s fantastic eateries.
Cosy Club has a
great atmosphere, big tables and a huge choice of mains and smaller tapas to
share to keep everyone happy. Or why not
try Shaam Nights, voted one of the best restaurants in Wales, for some middle
eastern mezze set in a beautiful Aladdin style grotto.
Stick with the
international vibe and move on to Revolución de Cuba, a rum bar with a Latin theme. It’s a big bar so great for a group but
busy enough to make it easy to chat to your fellow bar goers. After all, a hen
do is never really complete until you’ve made best friends with a groups
of stags dressed as dodgy 80’s rockstars!
Dare the hen to get some maracas from behind the bar and start a conga
line around the room to get the party started.
Tiger Tiger is a
great choice to end the night on. There
are four themed bars including a tropical tiki bar, where you can pick up the
best cocktails in town before heading on to the dance floor. There are even private karaoke rooms if you
want to try out your best Tom Jones and Charlotte Church impersonations.
The best thing
is, you don’t even need to book flights to get to this foreign destination! Just off the M4 with great rail connections,
there’s no better country to go for good food, friendly locals, exotic bars
and guaranteed fun.
