in a mixed bag for the first time?
HARIBO Starmix went on to become part of the fond childhood memories of
countless children and was even named ‘Britains Favourite Sweet’!
To celebrate their 25th birthday, HARIBO invited us to get creative and
come up with a birthday cake fit for such a special celebration!
I’m going to let you in to a little secret – I am a TERRIBLE baker! I’ve
tried my best to make birthday cakes for my little ones over the years and
while there have been one or two that came out alright, most of them have been
a downright disaster – in fact one year it took me FOUR attempts just to get a
cake that was baked all the way through! Eek!
What I lack in baking skills, my children more than make up for in
enthusiasm when it comes to projects like this so I enlisted their help to come
up with the perfect cake to celebrate 25 years of Starmix.
After a bit of a discussion, we decided that the best way to honour
Starmix was to recreate a packet in cake form!
pretty smoothly – no major disasters to report and it baked right through on
the first try – hooray!
Unfortunately, some of our decorating skills left a lot to be desired –
let’s just say I don’t think we’ll be winning any Star Baker awards any time
soon!
But we tried our best and we had SO much fun doing it – plus the end
result tasted pretty good, which is the main thing right?!
